This little guy sits on my desk. My friends Anne and Ben got him for me as a Christmas gift because they think I look like him. It’s true, of course. He’s as much a ‘Winter Action Ryan’ toy as I am a walkin’ and talkin’ Yukon Cornelius.

Photographing him has been on the agenda for a while now. Figured it was time I got around to it!

The year is winding down. Hell, so is the decade. Two damn days left and I keep wondering where all the time went. The year is a bit easier to measure. The decade not so much. They both had back halves with copious amounts of ‘What the fuck?’ and  ‘Boy, you dun goofed’ but that’s okay. There were plenty of good times too.
Anyway, all rambling aside, the point of this post was to elaborate on why I’m starting an account on tumblr. (Beyond expanding my web presence and upping my hipster cred.)
This year I decided to go back to school and get a Bachelor’s in Graphic Design. In one of my classes, I had to create a process binder. Every week I found a new design that I liked, wrote a few pages about it, and put it in the binder. I intend to use this for something similar.
To start, here’s a photo I took back in 2004. I was really interested in photography back then. Took thousands of photos. Most of them I never showed anyone. Most of them were bad.
This is one I like.
